Duval County Public Schools is Hiring a Supervisor, IT Systems Analyst (EESS) Near Jacksonville, FL

Job SummarySupports application development staff and end-users in understanding Educational Management Systems (EMS) and technology applications. Serves as customer interface to the Information Management staff to provide new or enhanced functionality in student information systems and other systems development.
Essential Functions
  • Develops, maintains, and tests programming for Learning Management System (LMS) Special Student Services module. Programming languages used: Javascript; SQL
  • Provides advanced and level support to various departments and end users throughout DCPS to resolve issues and implement changes.
  • Interfaces with district Database Administrators to develop district reports; publish data to LMS database.
  • Lead planning and/or implementation of system changes and system upgrades for applicable modules by working with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Assists end users with ongoing, system-related standard operational functions such as school opening and closing; state reporting requirements; handle system data anomalies and other system changes; technical support; etc.
  • Establishes and maintains system, data, and business logic through ongoing interaction with vendor, stakeholders, and other related.
  • Analyzes current business processes and assesses compatibility with Educational Management Systems (EMS) or other enterprise applications. Ensures integration with other modules. Analyzes and reviews information to identify important issues and formulates alternative solutions to problems in area of responsibility.
  • Designs, configures, and tests new functionality and business processes to complement those in existence; configures EMS to accommodate designed processes; and ensures functionality in relation to established requirements. Approves requests for changes and development work. Gives final approval for development tasks.
  • Articulates user needs to development team and takes ownership of development work performed.
  • Develops and maintains documentation for system changes and implements changes to production systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in system support and analysis. Experience in requirements gathering, functional testing, and technical documentation preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Relevant system analysis certifications preferred.
