DV Trading, LLC is Hiring a Software Developer - Back Office Near Chicago, IL

About Us:Founded more than 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 450 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Gather requirements from internal business units and technology staff.
  • Assemble a development plan for implementation and communicate the plan to stakeholders.
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders in an iterative fashion to deliver platform functionality.
  • Develop solutions to improve and optimize overall back office processes.
  • Provide status updates on assigned work to management and, when required, act as a project manager on projects.
  • Advise, educate, and train key stakeholders within the organization on adoption of changes.
Requirements:
  • 4 years of financial industry experience developing back office software
  • Experience programming using Java, Scala, C and Python in Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with FIX protocol, Docker containers, Kafka and Lftp
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders across the organization to gain consensus
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (master's degree preferred)
Nice to have:
  • Experience with Reference data across traded product types (e.g. Equities, Commodities, Futures and Options, Fixed Income)
  • Postgres Database and SQL programming
