Overview:

DV is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team based in Chicago. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in driving our Linux, virtualization, and cloud capabilities forward, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance our IT operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain our multi-vendor storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and object storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Design, implement, and optimize storage solutions to meet the evolving needs of the organization, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with Windows and Linux environments, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical data stored across various storage platforms.
• Troubleshoot storage-related issues and performance bottlenecks, implementing solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Automate storage provisioning, monitoring, and reporting tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Conduct regular health checks and proactive maintenance activities to ensure the stability and security of storage systems.
• Work closely with vendors to evaluate new storage technologies and solutions, providing recommendations for adoption based on business requirements.
• Document storage configurations, procedures, and best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity within the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on storage-related projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in managing enterprise storage solutions, with expertise in multiple storage vendors such as EMC, NetApp, Dell EMC, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including experience with system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in storage protocols and technologies, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, and object storage.
• Hands-on experience with storage management tools and utilities, such as SAN/NAS management software, performance monitoring tools, and backup solutions.
• Strong understanding of storage architecture, including RAID configurations, data deduplication, compression, and tiered storage.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with storage systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex storage issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Relevant certifications such as EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), or similar credentials are a plus.
