PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Provide Family advocacy support services in support of the US Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) G9, Army Community Service (ACS), Family Advocacy Program (FAP). Provide family needs assessments, parent education training, child development

information, victim advocacy response, and crisis intervention, among other supportive services

POSITION OVERVIEW: The New Parent Support Home Visitor will provide social work services in support of the IMCOM FASS program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Deliver social work services to new and expecting parents. Areas or work may include child abuse, domestic abuse, maternal or child health or medical social work, public/community health, and mental health
• Identify and report suspected child abuse and neglect, domestic abuse and PSB-CY
• Conduct crisis intervention and coordination of referrals for services when applicable
• Educate personnel regarding the most effective responses and resources for domestic abuse, child abuse and neglect, and PSB-CY on behalf of victims and at-risk Family members
• Provide services to address postpartum depression and other mental health issues impacting maternal and paternal child health
• Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills and disciplinary techniques, and parent and child communication skills
• Utilize community-based services and formal and informal community networks to provide concrete support for Families who may be in crisis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Clinical Track
  • Current, valid, unrestricted clinical license
  • Master’s degree in social work
  • 2 years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, or maternal or child health or medical social work
• Nurse Track
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • current unrestricted license in one of the States or U.S. territories
  • At least two years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, public/community health, or mental health
