The Role

Associate EHS Manager I. You are a highly collaborative, pragmatic, and organized operations specialist. You'll ensure a safe and compliant workspace as part of the Operations Team whose focus is on enabling our employees to discover best in class AAV capsids.

How You Will Contribute

As the Associate EHS Manager I on the Operations team, you'll provide safety leadership, influence, and guidance to employees to establish a culture of safety and stewardship for our lab environment, with an emphasis on biosafety. You'll train users and work hands-on with scientists across all levels of the organization. You'll look for opportunities to continuously improve our systems that will enable a safer, cleaner and better working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of all operational safety practices at Dyno:
• Maintain updated safety manuals
• Deliver onboarding and annual refresher training to users
• Track training records
• Facilitate Hepatitis B vaccination process
• Conduct internal safety audits and regular follow-up activities
• Hold regular safety meetings and annual IBC meeting
• File annual compliance reporting and permit renewal
• Evaluate new projects from a safety perspective
• Receive and respond to internal tickets in a timely manner, escalating as appropriate
• Direct and supervise the work of our lab waste and hazardous waste vendors
• Review lab user data and feedback and identify areas for improvement

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field
• 3-4 years of experience in a laboratory support role with at least 2 years of experience overseeing laboratory safety
• Strong commitment to clarity and details in communication
• Ability to follow and improve protocols
• Experience training and mentoring others to shape positive behaviors
• Demonstrated experience in prioritizing and decision making

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working in a biotech startup environment
• Experience in collaborating closely with Facilities and Lab Operations
