Psychiatrist for our Children & Aolescent Program at District 19 Community Services Board
Make specific recommendations for further evaluation, medication, psychological services, environmental change and/or hospitalization.
Make provisional recommendations for treatment, specifying conditions; and for medications, specifying type(s) of medication(s) and dosage(s).
Be responsible for involuntary commitment hearings and court-related activities as necessary, in consultatio with the facility.
Confer with the facility psychological, medical, counseling and security staff during time not used in evaluation and treatment of individuals and in consultation with the facility, in the treatment and management of specific individuals, and in the general prevention, recognition, handling and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to clients.
Administer medical evaluations and medication management as needed.
Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in treatment planning meetings.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Provide support, education, and guidance to clients and their families.
Requirements: Medical degree with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and some experience in clinical/hospital practice in service to the mentally ill. Licensed as a Psychiatrist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Virginia Controlled Substance Registration and DEA Registration
