E-ZPass MA/TransCore is Hiring an Accounting Customer Service Rep Near Auburn, MA

The position is on-site at the Auburn E-ZPass Center.

TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to join our Accounting team in Auburn, Massachusetts.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor, the Customer Service Representative will be responsible for assisting with payment related issues including E-ZPass MA, WEB, Pay by Plate, and Lockbox. Assist with collections, data entry, payments, reporting, and account analysis as needed. The Customer Service Representative must be knowledgeable and understand the business rules set forth by MassDOT.

Qualifications: Able to work 8:00am – 4:30 pm, M-F

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Successfully complete all required training for this position
  • Responsible for understanding and meeting daily, weekly, monthly performance metrics and standards; informing team lead and/or supervisor when issues arise that impact metrics
  • Apply payments to customer accounts, timely and accurately
  • Handle customer related issues regarding the Lockbox Exception Queue
  • End of the month consolidating, recording, and preparing for storage, all records of the accounting department
  • Prepare W-9 forms as requested
  • Input daily statistical information
  • Audit document retrievals
  • Satellite location related support
  • Cross Train on various job duties within the department such as the daily reconciliations, Logan reconciliations, bankruptcies, and the collections process
  • Provide team support by assisting other departments/department members to ensure all work is completed on a daily basic and all metrics are met, including answering phones
  • Must remain professional under every circumstance with customers/non-customers and staff members
  • Perform other duties as directed by TransCore management
  • Desired Skills:
  • Solid keyboard skill
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Team player, strong organizational skills, proactive and conscientious
  • Accounting degree or high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping/office work experience
  • Education:
  • High school equivalent required. College education preferred.

Skill: Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete tasks.

Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 0 - 1 year of related experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
