An experienced Environmental Scientist and technical expert and leader is required in our Hunt Valley, MD office to support current contracts and contribute to the projected growth of our Mid-Atlantic regional fuel system program in our Site Characterization and Remediation group. Our consulting services include providing AST/UST fuel system compliance support including inspections (e.g., MDE-certified UST, STI SP001 AST), testing, troubleshooting/deficiency repair/management, and regulatory compliance assessments, release response and corrective action follow-up for catastrophic failures of fuel systems,
What You Will DoThe mid-level Environmental Scientist specific responsibilities include:
  • Identify, execute, and manage a variety of fuel-system related projects.
  • Proposal development.
  • Project management, and technical task management for our existing and new commercial and government clients.
  • Represent EA and present the capabilities of our fuel system program at conferences, trade shows, and regional meetings and events.
  • Plan and permit preparation and updates (e.g., SPCC Plans, O&M Plans, Oil Operation Permits, DC FEMS Operational Permits).
  • Site assessment and remediation support, including Phase II ESAs and fuel spills.
  • Fuel system design and permitting, including retail and fleet fuel stations, boiler plant backup fuel systems, emergency generator fuel systems, and other smaller systems.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelors’ degree in environmental science or related discipline.
  • 5 plus years of experience.
  • Storage tank (AST/UST) compliance and site characterization and remediation experience.
  • Must be able to work as a team member across technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrate business development skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing regulatory environments.
  • Experience with storage tank designs, and working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs, e.g., regulators, and fire marshals) preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems to include power controls and process controls preferred.
