The Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating the safety of the company and make sure it is hazard-free; ensure compliance with OSHA, DEQ, and DOT; track DART and TRIR, identify leading indicators, incident investigations, reporting, corrective actions. Acts as a safety resource, guide, and partner.

· Safety inspections and recommends corrective measures

· Conduct incident investigations to determine root-cause and proposes preventive measures

· Instruct employees on safety procedure and practices to follow

· Perform facility inspections

· Recommend changes to processes and/or procedures to improve safety

· Conduct safety audits and advises the appropriate corrective actions

· Evaluate and recommend enforcement recommendations in accordance with OSHA standards and other regulatory agency regulations

· Provide excellent service enterprise wide

· Maintain and modify KPA as required

· Provide EHS metrics when required

· Conduct training on scheduled safety topics and annual requirements

· Other duties as assigned/directed by management.

· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in safety or other applicable field or 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a safety focus

· Minimum of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing safety a plus

· Knowledge of OSHA, DEQ, DOT, and other regulatory requirements and application

· Exceptional customer service

· Excellent leadership skills: Communicate clear objectives, provide feedback, and suggest improvement for individual performance, coaches

· Exceptional organizational, management, planning, and executing and problem-solving skills

· Experience analyzing company needs, planning, development and implementation

· Ability to prepare comprehensive written reports and correspondences, represent ideas clearly and concisely, and make presentations

· Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
