Days: Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 3:45 pm

Hiring Range: $52,000-$65,792 based on experience  (ECS years of experience honored)

Position Overview:

The Student Success Teacher at ECCA plays a pivotal role in enhancing core instruction and character development specifically within grades 5-8. This role will work directly with students while teaming with other educators to build consistency across grade levels and content areas. 

Collaborating closely with the Principal, Assistant Principal, students, and staff, this role focuses on guiding students through the acquisition, application, and refinement of executive functioning skills, with a special emphasis on organization, community building, and character education centered around our Hawk Traits. Moreover, the Student Success Teacher will lead initiatives in social-emotional education and restorative practices, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment for both students and teachers. When needed the Student Success Teacher will work directly with staff on how to successfully put these practices into use with students in various classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead students in instruction, development, and practical application of executive functioning skills, fostering traits such as organization, collaboration, and responsibility, aligned with ECCA's Hawk Traits.
  • Spearhead social-emotional education initiatives and serve as the primary advocate for social emotional learning and restorative practices, facilitating meaningful connections and conflict resolution among students and teachers.
  • Design and implement engaging learning activities tailored to the developmental needs of students, nurturing their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth to help them reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate on the development of a comprehensive curriculum integrating essential skills such as writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, note-taking, and study techniques.
  • Provide targeted support to students across various content areas to ensure academic success, working closely with teachers to enhance pedagogical effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers around integrating student supports and structures into academic settings to support strong teacher-student relationships and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for the holistic needs of students, identifying at-risk individuals, initiating program adjustments, and tracking academic progress to ensure timely interventions.
  • Foster effective work and study habits among students, assisting them in setting and achieving behavior and improvement goals.
  • Develop systems for monitoring and tracking student behavior and academic progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with the administration and front office staff to address issues related to excessive absences, tardiness, and missing assignments, ensuring timely follow-up and support for students.
  • Support with middle school enrichment opportunities 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification/license.
  • Proven experience in teaching.
  • Strong understanding of executive functioning skills, social-emotional learning, conflict resolution and restorative practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
