Job Title: TESTING TECHNICIAN

Overview:

PURPOSE:

To complete various microbiological and chemical testing methods in a laboratory environment and other duties as directed by Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Must document information of the various pieces of equipment; receive samples and verify information on micro samples entering the lab. Must be able to complete chemical verification testing on various products. Complete cleaning / calibrations / verifications on all instruments on a routine daily basis or as specified. Communicate with appropriate departments about missing samples or errors. Prepare samples for microbial and chemical analysis including cutting of carrot product and maceration. Label, inoculate and incubate plates and broths. Must do samples amplification, interpretation, counting and reading of due plates / enriched broths. Must keep record and computer logging of microbial and chemical results information. Preparation of solutions and growth media for microbial analysis. Must handle the sterilization of prepared solutions, growth media and waste materials. Must handle chemical solutions and follow all safety requirements for those chemicals. Clean and wash lab materials and other duties as assigned. Maintain proper application of Work Safety Rules, keep proper interpretation and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Conduct precise and consistent scientific experimentation on a routine daily basis. Participate in Laboratory Proficiency Testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIEREMENT:

Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office, food processing facilities. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Must be able to move items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
