East End Disability Associates Inc is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Riverhead, NY

East End Disability Associates Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). EEDA is hiring a full-time Human Resources Generalist to work within EEDA's Human Resouces Deparment.

Shifts: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Some flexibility required based on program needs

Hourly Rate: $25-$28

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a central contact for employees to address their inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Administration of job transfers, promotions and separations. Ensure employment records are appropriately updated within the HRIS and appropriate communications or updates are processed in a timely manner to stakeholders.
  • Coordination of employee recognition programs including administration of GUS Award.
  • Stays abreast of employment regulations.
  • Ensure job descriptions are maintained and updated as needed.
  • Oversee recruit and onboarding of exempt positions and provide support with other vacancies as needed.
  • Conduct department related reports, surveys or audits to ensure compliance with regulation or department policies or programs. This includes but is not limited to performance management, training, professional license verification, and employment authorizations.
  • Ensure new hires and employees are screened in accordance with OMIG and agency policy.
  • Administration of employee commitment and referral bonus program.
  • Management of agency tuition reimbursement program.
  • Respond to employment related surveys and requests for information.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of department communications including policies, procedures and the employee handbook.
  • May assist with employee relations matters including employee investigations, safety assessments, or participate in employee disciplinary meetings.
  • Support departmental programs or initiatives on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelors degree in HR Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Human Resources required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office required. Prior experience in UKG/Kronos preferred,
  • Teamwork and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience working in OPWDD regulated environment preferred.

Responsible for the support and administration of Human Resources programs and policies. Provides guidance and support for the HR function in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and employee recognition.
