General Maintenance Worker

EAST O&M, service provider for the USACE at the Carters Lake Project in Chatsworth GA, has one opening for a General Maintenance Worker.

Location is a recreational site that includes boating, fishing, swimming, camping, and hiking.

Minimum Education Requirements: High School education of equivalent, any college is a plus.

Job Scope:Maintenance and repair as needed of USACE Recreation facilities, Govt building, Offices, and other infrastructureowned by the USACE.

The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, lighting fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing and repairing damaged gates and fences, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Skills preferred:Basic knowledge of electrical systems single phase residential type, carpentry, equipment operation is a plus of tractors, skid steer, backhoe, zero turn mowers.

Requirements: Valid GA Driver’s license, CDL’s are a plus, reliable transportation to the job office, ability to pass drug screen as EAST O & M is a drug-free workplace. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.

Work schedule: 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday each week.

Pay rate: $19.83 per hour plus Govt. Health and Welfare benefit of additional pay of $4.57 per hour for the first 40 hrs. worked each week. You can choose to use that towards company health insurance or have it added to your base pay rate without health insurance.
