Assigned locations for the Floating Retail/Inventory Supervisor: Salinas, Moss Landing, and Prunedale

Job Mission:

Under the general supervision of the Centralized Manager, the Floating Retail/Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the individual store within the assigned locations and must be flexible with short notice of location changes. They will provide daily support, and direction to the staff within the assigned locations. They must ensure a positive, excellent customer service experience and ensure all inventory is accurately recorded for the dispensary. The Floating Retail/Inventory Supervisor is responsible for proactively identifying personnel or customer service issues, as well as preventing overstocking of inventory and overscheduling of employees that will impact cash flow. The employee in this role must possess the ability to multitask between inventory and retail, communicate effectively with others, and be accountable to individuals and team results in a dynamic and fast paced retail environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to commute between various locations as required for job responsibilities
  • Must be flexible with short notice of location changes
  • Must have an open availability and be willing to work at assigned locations as needed
  • Overall management of dispensary inventory
  • Manages sales floor workflow, including supervision of the retail associates and ensuring adherence to break/lunch schedule
  • Dispensary Vendor management in coordination with Retail Manager and Purchasing Coordinator
  • Observes customer service activities and gives budtenders feedback to provide excellent customer service
  • Supports Retail Management with tasks as directed; participates in meetings as requested
  • Operates cash register to complete customer transactions, if needed
  • Works with Retail Management to resolve employee disputes or concerns
  • Maintain standard operating processes and procedure documentation for sales and inventory procedures
  • Maintain product knowledge and dispensary training materials
  • In coordination with the Retail Manager, Teach, Coach and train Retail and Inventory Associates on products in inventory and dispensary inventory standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with Retail Management to assure that daily operations at the retail outlets run smoothly and efficiently
  • Responsible for opening or store closing including cash drops(cash handling, and helping on register when needed)
  • Administer “Coffee Cups” and Disciplinary Action Reports when necessary upon approval from management
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent in work experience
  • 2 years experience supervising retail/inventory employees
  • 2 years customer service, sales and/or retail experience
  • Must be 21 years of age

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively use software utilized at the retail outlets
  • Knowledge of or interest in cannabis
  • Strong teamwork and effective listening, written, verbal, communication skills
  • Ability to meet company goals and objectives, and work effectively within a team environment
  • Reliability and trustworthiness
  • Basic business math, including counting change and products
  • Extensive knowledge of or interest in cannabis including consumption methods, recreation and medical marijuana laws, strains and more
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment
  • Ability to problem solve

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle, see and feel
  • The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or reach
  • The employee must have the ability to occasionally safely lift and/or move a minimum of 40 lbs.
