GCA is a repository of global census publications from as early as the 16th century to the present day and includes fully searchable editions of historical print publications of some 220 countries.The Program Manager, Global Press Archive is the key driver of GCA, responsible for targeting and incorporating new census content from around the world and understanding the needs of our customers.A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of world geography and possess exceptional organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills to manage, direct, and influence internal stakeholders. Additionally, the Program Manager, Global Press Archive will interface with customers and attend relevant tradeshows and conferences to evangelize the program, seek market input and provide support to colleagues in East View’s Marketing, Operations, and Sales departments and promote the use of GCA among libraries worldwide.Key Duties:

• Hold topline P&L responsibility for the ongoing production and revenue growth of the Global Census Archive.
• Define and implement the strategy for online publishing (rights acquisition and digital production).
• Define product features, pricing, and business rules by conferring with internal stakeholders, studying the needs and interests of customers, conducting competitive market intelligence, and reviewing professional literature.
• Engage with vendors and internal colleagues in support of the mission.
• Drive continuous innovation, process improvement, cost-efficiency, and achievement of goals for the GCA product line.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3 years in information services, publishing, academic or professional work related to census content and world geography. Familiarity with East View’s key market segments (academic institutions, government organizations, public and federal libraries) strongly preferred.
• Strong expertise in geography/area studies/geopolitical subject matter is essential.
• Proficiency in one or more foreign languages preferred, but not necessary.

• Travel: 10% domestic and international (academic and publishing conferences, onsite visits to library customers, interaction with other publishers and foreign government ministries)

• This is an onsite position with some flexibility for remote work.
