East View is a leading publisher of information products and services, including online databases and print publications from global sources, with particular focus on Russia and the former Soviet Union, East Asia, and the Middle East. Our information products are in local languages of these regions as well as in English. We serve all geographies and many market segments, including academic institutions, government organizations, corporations, public and federal libraries, and law firms. The East View content portfolio covers more than 130 countries and 80 languages, and we serve customers worldwide. East View has proudly created the Global Census Archive (“GCA”), the most comprehensive online archive of census publications available. GCA is a repository of global census publications from as early as the 16th century to the present day and includes fully searchable editions of historical print publications of some 220 countries. The Program Manager, Global Press Archive is the key driver of GCA, responsible for targeting and incorporating new census content from around the world and understanding the needs of our customers. A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of world geography and possess exceptional organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills to manage, direct, and influence internal stakeholders. Additionally, the Program Manager, Global Press Archive will interface with customers and attend relevant tradeshows and conferences to evangelize the program, seek market input and provide support to colleagues in East View’s Marketing, Operations, and Sales departments and promote the use of GCA among libraries worldwide. Key Duties:
Hold topline P&L responsibility for the ongoing production and revenue growth of the Global Census Archive
Define and implement the strategy for online publishing (rights acquisition and digital production)
Define product features, pricing, and business rules by conferring with internal stakeholders, studying the needs and interests of customers, conducting competitive market intelligence, and reviewing professional literature
Engage with vendors and internal colleagues in support of the mission
Drive continuous innovation, process improvement, cost-efficiency, and achievement of goals for the GCA product line
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred
3 years in information services, publishing, academic or professional work related to census content and world geography. Familiarity with East View’s key market segments (academic institutions, government organizations, public and federal libraries) strongly preferred
Strong expertise in geography/area studies/geopolitical subject matter is essential
Proficiency in one or more foreign languages preferred, but not necessary

Workplace Details:
This is an onsite position with some flexibility for remote work
The typical work schedule is 9-5, Monday-Friday, with flexibility depending upon the demands of the workload
