Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division is currently seeking a Distributed Energy Resources Engineer Intern.
The monthly rate for this position is $6000.

Job SummaryEaton Research Labs (ERL) is currently seeking for an Engineering Intern - Distributed Energy Resources to join our team in Golden CO. The intern requires to be onsite.

Job ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will:
  • Develop and simulate model-free AI/ML based algorithms for energy management and control of distributed energy resources (DERs) in a microgrid energy system
  • Evaluate the performance of model-free AI/ML algorithms in comparison with mathematical optimization-based techniques for operating a microgrid energy system
  • Support other senior team members in conducting simulation and analysis in a timely manner to meet the project deadline.
QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in a Master’s or PhD degree program in Electrical engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Strong programming experience in Python and Matlab
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
  • Flexibility to relocate to Golden, CO for the duration of the Internship Program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years Python or MATLAB programming experience for development of AI/ML algorithms
  • Demonstrated strong experience in AI/ML algorithms (reinforcement learning, multi-agent reinforcement learning, deep learning, forecasting algorithms etc.) with applications to power/energy systems
  • Experience using one or more of PSCAD, Simulink, or other electrical modeling software
  • Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and to analyze engineering problems particularly power systems problems.
