Eaton is Hiring an Operations Project Leader Near South Milwaukee, WI

Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking an Operations Project Leader. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Operations Project Leader is responsible for executing medium to larger manufacturing projects while meeting schedule, cost and quality targets. The position will lead the operations activities while working with a cross-functional product development teams with elements of planning, risk analysis, costing, product design, reliability testing, prototyping and design for manufacturability by effectively leveraging industry standard best practices and program management methodologies. With five Eaton facilities and more than 1600 employees located in Southeastern Wisconsin, Eaton’s local footprint enables our employees with state-of-the-art laboratories and access to manufacturing, all while providing ample opportunities for development and career growth within region.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific manufacturing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including operations project plans, capital budgets, PFMEA’s, control plans, process flow charts, management of change and lead PROLaunch activities associated with operations.
  • Participate in new product development design reviews and provide input to improve the overall design for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify potential operational project risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruption to project timelines and objectives.
  • Create and optimize manufacturing processes, layouts and techniques for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and increased product quality, applying lean manufacturing principles.
  • Coordinate the design and installation of new manufacturing & test equipment, including supplier selection, runoff, training, documentation of associated manufacturing process and work instructions.
  • Spearhead the development and integration of new manufacturing technologies or equipment, conducting feasibility studies and overseeing the installation and initial operation phases to ensure they meet project specifications and enhance production capabilities.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with 2D or 3D modeling used for layouts, design of fixtures, tools, workstations, 3D printing and manipulating product design and DFMA analyses
  • Experience with Project Management methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification
  • PMP Certification or Project Management training

Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise leading operations and manufacturing new line installations
  • Knowledge of power systems, switchgear and regulator products/applications is an added advantage
