The Ethiopian Community Development Council, Inc. (ECDC), established in 1983, is a non-profit, community-based organization that advocates on behalf of refugee and immigrant issues; conducts cultural, health education, and socio-economic development programs; and resettles refugees in the U.S. through a network of affiliate partners. While organized to respond initially to the needs of a growing Ethiopian community in the Washington, D.C., area, ECDC has been serving newcomers from diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining a focus on African refugees and immigrants. ECDC has been resettling refugees from around the world since 1991.
Job Summary: PC ICM Case Manager CM will be responsible for providing intensive case management services to newly arriving eligible refugee populations. They will focus on providing strength-based intensive case management to vulnerable populations including, but not limited to single-headed refugee households, women-at-risk, refugees experiencing medical and/or psychological conditions, including emotional trauma resulting from war, DV, and/GBV, refugees that identify as LGBTQIA and elderly. They will maintain a strong working relationship with other departments to help clients to achieve their self-sufficiency goals outlined in their service plan/family self-sufficiency plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Understand and adhere to guidelines in PC Manual for clients’ eligibility, program length, benefits explanation, sanctioning and appeal policies
· Responsible for collecting appropriate information and documentation to determine client eligibility on a routine basis
· Basic understanding of refugee resettlement and ability to review eligibility documentation
· Refer clients to other external programs and service providers as needed
· Understands and implements protocols for sanctioning clients when appropriate in consultation with the Program Manager
· Responsible for recording clients’ information in the appropriate database and submitting routine reports to the Program Manager
· Follow-up with all active clients on a weekly basis and update services and case notes as needed
· Work closely with all Refugee Department staff and other internal Alliance Programing for referrals
· Review all client documentation and consult with direct supervisor prior to case closure
· Responsible for keeping clients aware of service timeline and sending reminder letters with the date of recertification and the date that they will be out of service period eligibility
· Collect all information from external agencies for secondary migrant clients prior to enrollment as needed
· Maintain Data Base updates on a regular basis
· Attend daily, weekly and monthly, and quarterly department meetings
· Communicate all activities, program success, and challenges with the Program Manager
· Pick up refugees from airport as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Collaborate with ECDC affiliate staff across the country to ensure consistent service delivery to clients
· Share best practices and lessons learned with affiliate colleagues
· Attend and participate in affiliate-wide meetings and trainings
· Work closely with program managers and directors to implement program activities and achieve program goals
· Assist with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation
· Stay up-to-date on ECDC policies and procedures related to assigned programs
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
· Some college (2-year degree) preferred; 4-year degree a plus. In lieu of college degrees, at least 3 years’ experience in Behavioral Health/Clinical settings; Data Management, non-profit settings, and/or other administrative duties accepted
· Experience in the medical field is a plus

· A demonstrated commitment to humanitarian issues, economic development, equity and inclusion for immigrants as well as fostering a welcoming community
· Ability to work flexible hours
