Echo Communications, Inc is Hiring an Accounting Clerk Near North Fort Myers, FL

SummaryUnder general supervision, performs routine finance, administrative and other tasks as
assigned by the Finance Supervisor and/or Manager/Director including processing and
monitoring payments and expenditures in a timely manner. The Accounting Clerk is
responsible for maintaining records for all expenditures and receipts.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Open, sort and date incoming mail.
  • Review expenditures for appropriate authorization, coding, and supporting documentation in Approval Max.
  • Code and enter invoices into QuickBooks as needed.
  • Review expenditures for appropriate authorization, coding, and supporting
documentation.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts and clear accounts monthly.
  • Prepare vendor checks for signature and mailing.
  • Ensure scanned/digital documentation is complete monthly.
  • Update/maintain key month-end finance spreadsheets (work papers).
  • Research accounts payable inquiries from vendors and staff.
  • Enter other QuickBooks entries from month-end spreadsheets.
  • Support international impact center monthly financial reconciliations and reporting.
  • Scan, file or copy documentation.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll as needed.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Must have knowledge of general bookkeeping, accounts payable, to include A/P & recording income, office procedures and practice.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience mandatory.
  • One year of payroll processing experience required.
  • Must have the ability to plan and organize work schedule to complete tasks as assigned by the Finance management.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and timeliness with responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and acumen.
  • Ability to utilize automated data processing systems and operate office machines.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Must subscribe to the ECHO Statement of Faith.
Required Education And Experience
  • Associate degree in Accounting or Business or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable processing and payroll.
  • Strong computer skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google applications, especially Excel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to the general public and other employees.
  • Non-Profit experience preferred.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type And Expected Hours Of WorkThis is a part-time position. Days and hours of work fall into the normal ECHO work week Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (hours varied)
