Roll-Off Driver

Location: Port Charlotte, FL, US

You will operate a collection truck safely while navigating neighborhoods and communities in various regions. Providing dependable, amiable, and uniform service to our valued customers who depend on us for vital service. Your contribution goes beyond visibility, it is tangible. Your role plays a key part in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of streets, neighborhoods, and communities.

Compensation:

$22 - $23 hourly

Responsibilities:

What you will do:

  • Safely operate a collection truck to collect waste and/or recycling along a designated route and transfer it to a disposal site.
  • Work closely with Dispatch, your Supervisor, and the rest of the driver team to service our customers on different routes and schedules.
  • Load/unload waste and/or recycling materials at landfills, recycling centers, or similar facilities.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure the truck is in proper working order and address maintenance issues quickly.
  • Follow all required safety policies and report any safety or employee experience issues to leadership.
Qualifications:

What you will need to be successful:

  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brake endorsement (Required) .
  • Ability to read a map and/or use navigational devices.
  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, some holidays, and weekends.
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned routes are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes as needed.
  • Good problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues.
  • Desire to work as a team, while helping and interacting respectfully with each other.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions, and other business interactions.
  • Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Lifting: able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements.
