Position SummaryThe Laboratory Support Technician processes patient requests for outpatients and outside account patients.
As a Laboratory Supoort Technician, You Will
- Perform venipuncture (on individuals of all ages), skin puncture (on individuals of all ages), and arterial punctures (on individuals greater than 16 years of age) on outpatients, hospital inpatients and outside account patients
- Prepare specimens from hospital inpatients, outpatients, and outside account patients for clinical and reference laboratory testing
- Maintain required documentation to comply with accrediting agencies
Minimum Requirements
- High School, Equivalent (GED), or higher
- Phlebotomy certification by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency
- 6 months experience in a hospital or reference laboratory setting, physician office outpatient clinic or other medical setting
- 40 hours a week
- Monday - Friday (11 am - 7:30 pm or 7 pm - 3:30 am)
- Required to work a rotational weekend schedule for every 3rd weekend
- Rotational holidays
- Shift/Hours may be adjusted according to staffing and/or workloand demands
