Job DescriptionThe STEM and Workforce Success (SWS) Portfolio has an opening for a Casual Senior Production Developer, reporting to the Director of Community and Strategy for the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) Program Office. This position will support the ABE program through resource development and management. The successful candidate will support a range of activities within this large and complex global science education program.
The SWS Portfolio builds and operates programs that help people develop the foundational skills and competencies needed for success in STEM education and career pathways. The successful candidate will have experience at both developing resources and managing workflows for others involved in the development process. The ABE program focuses on secondary science education, specifically molecular biology/biotechnology, and the candidate must be comfortable with this content area, with a preference for candidates who have taught this content to secondary students. The candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively to develop products, and will be able to professionally give and receive actionable feedback. Some experience with strategic planning and monitoring timelines and milestones is preferred. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, exceptionally professional, have a can-do attitude, have international experience in STEM education, and have strong written and oral communications skills. The ideal candidate above all will be enthusiastic about STEM education.
EDC casual employees generally work as needed. A casual position receives statutory benefits of Social Security contributions, Medicare contributions, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and sick leave. A casual position ends when work is complete. This casual position will be funded for at least six months, working an average of 20 hours per week with the potential to become a regular position.
You will:
  • Collaborate with ABE team to identify resource needs
  • Synthesize, manage, and disseminate existing resources
  • Facilitate project teamwork and feedback exchanges
  • Contribute to strategic planning and monitoring, including timeline and milestone development and communication to ABE leadership and team
  • Conceptualize and develop engaging modular science education resources and support materials
  • Coordinate reviews, pilot testing, and revisions of resources through an iterative design process
  • Coordinate dissemination strategies with ABE leadership
QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
Skills & Experience:
  • 5-7 years related experience in the disciplinary area, science or STEM education, training, and technical assistance
  • Strong technology skills and experience with a range of technology applications
  • Demonstrated experience developing science education resources
  • Demonstrated experience embedding best practices in science education and classroom pedagogy
  • Familiar with culturally responsive education and strengths-based student support strategies
  • Experience developing online and hybrid education resources
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:
  • Advanced degree in related field
  • Some prior project leadership or supervisory experience
  • Collaborative design experience preferred
  • Experience writing for an audience for whom English is not their primary language preferred

This position offers an anticipated annual base hourly range of approximately $25 to $53. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
