DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT

OF POSITION:

• Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning in literacy: writing, Science of Reading, children’s and young adult literature, Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, and State Standards in English Language Arts;
• Ability to plan and implement research-based and developmentally-appropriate interventions and enrichment around reading and writing instruction;
• Ability to be a team player and collaborate well with other interventionists, general education classroom teachers, special education service providers, and the Brewster Ladies’ Library;
• Ability to plan and teach weekly library classes to students;
• Responsible for organizing and managing the Eddy School Library, including circulation and book displays;
• Experience with individualizing and differentiating instruction for students;
• Experience connecting children’s and young adult literature to classroom instruction and ELA standards;
• Ability to be flexible, have a positive attitude, be a lifelong learner, and a champion for literacy, reading, and books.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Massachusetts DESE Certification in Elementary 1-6.

Highly Qualified and Experience Preferred

SALARY:

Per prevailing contract
