Title: Quality Engineer-Electronics

Job Type: 3-6 month contract

Location: Fulltime onsite in the Boston area

About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented, passionate, and dynamic individual to join our client's product quality team. This role is crucial in analyzing marketplace feedback to drive product and process improvements. You will collaborate closely with various functions within the organization, including Engineering, Customer Excellence, Marketing, Supply Chain, Creative, ID, Quality, Manufacturing, and Senior Executives.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer complaints and investigate field failures to develop actionable engineering and consumer-facing initiatives, representing the voice of the consumer.
• Drive continuous improvement of product quality by reducing and preventing non-conformances and implementing metrics to evaluate the impact of improvement initiatives.
• Support suppliers in 8D responses and quality resolution meetings, including written investigation reports and review of supplier corrective actions.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, safety reviews, and review manufacturing and test documentation to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
• Evaluate the overall consumer experience to identify and address experience detractors, tracking product performance and communicating key learnings for action.
• Partner with the Customer Excellence team to monitor consumer reception and sentiment.
• Lead input tracker meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss top issues and delegate actions.
• Conduct critical analysis of engineering changes (ECN) to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Track digital escalations and create accurate responses for customer inquiries.
• Manage product health reporting and drive continuous improvements for a five-star consumer experience.
• Strive for process efficiency and deliver impactful results in any situation.
• Act as a product expert for cross-functional team member questions and concerns.
• Regularly present status updates and special project outcomes to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Product Development, Human Factors Engineering, or a related field, preferably in a consumer goods company.
• 3 years of related engineering experience, preferably in a consumer goods company.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive change agent with the energy and enthusiasm to drive improvements.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels regarding design verification, production controls, CAPA, consumer complaints, and product improvement activities.
• Strong collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Understanding of product development lifecycles, design change, and document change control processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-impact environment.
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Resourceful, well-organized, highly dependable, efficient, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to travel as needed.
