Our Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) performs the following duties to support Edgerton Hospital:

  • Provides a welcoming experience for all patients during rooming/intake.
  • Assist with patient flow by checking vital signs, collecting non-invasive specimens, measuring input and output, obtaining a 12-lead EKG.
  • Provide bath and hygiene care, meal assistance, and assistance with ambulation and transfers.
  • Prepares equipment during basic examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments using aseptic techniques.
  • Maintains equipment, orders supplies, and cleans and restocks the treatment areas.
  • Communicates in a timely manner with the patient, family and healthcare team and document care per protocol in the medical record. Reports changes in the patient's condition to the RN or MD.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
  • Preferred relevant experience in Med/Surg setting, hospital or other health care entities to include EMS.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred.
  • Current BLS certification, or certification prior to independent patient care.

We are looking for a full-time, 0.9 FTE HUC who will support our Med/Surg department during the day shift.
