Opportunity Snapshot:

• Compensation: $140K-160K/year (negotiable)
• Location: Houston, TX
• Assignment Duration: Direct hire
• Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural steel and concrete design from an accredited college or university
• Must have either a Professional Engineering (PE) registration or Structural Engineer (SE) License
• 5 years of experience in Structural Engineering
• Relevant structural engineering experience in the petrochemical, midstream, power, heavy industrial, chemical plant industries
• Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, IBC
• Familiarity with standard engineering analysis and design software including Staad, RAM connection, AutoCAD, Navisworks, LPile and SP Column
• Familiarity with standard engineering office computer software including Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Possess oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the production of structural engineering design documents according to project budget, schedule and quality, and assist procurement packages. Reports to the lead engineer and department manager
• Modular design for Down and Midstream projects
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or a sequence of tasks as part of a broader assignment with few complex features
• Collaborates with others and uses personal judgment to adapt methods for non-routine assignments
• Works on multiple small to midsize projects, or portions of large projects
• Exercises good judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods to complete assignments. Has good understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
• Shows initiative and independent thinking. Devises new approaches or adapts existing techniques to problems encountered
• Performs engineering design tasks independently
• Takes responsibility for preparation of project documents/deliverables including drawings and calculations.
• Reviews and edits specifications. Identifies engineering design problems and formulates solutions
• Provides technical assistance and coordinates with other project disciplines as assigned
• Collects data and gathers information or documents. Performs investigations and interprets data
