Title: Finance Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Compensation: $25/hr and is dependent upon experience and qualifications

Hours: 20 hours per week average, M-F flexible daytime hours, Irregular & cyclical hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Benefits: Earned Safe and Sick Time, per MN State Laws.

Location: Flexible, in-person (Edina), or remote with routine, in-person meetings

The Edina Give and Go mission is to bring life and learning opportunities to Edina Public School (EPS) students who are economically disadvantaged.

For ten years, we’ve worked to ensure socioeconomic status doesn’t prevent any EPS student from engaging fully in the academic, artistic or athletic opportunities that exist in the community. We do this by removing barriers through connection, funding and advocacy for the K-12 Edina Public School students living at 200% or below the poverty line.

We’re seeking a finance coordinator that will focus on financial execution and accounting to join our small and energetic, mission-driven team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, flexible and proactive with professional financial management and bookkeeping experience and is motivated by a collaborative and open environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide day-to-day financial management and bookkeeping including data entry, check requests, and deposits in our financial management and customer relationship management (CRM) systems ensuring accuracy, timeliness and proper documentation for transactions.
• Process weekly scholarship payments in partnership with the Outreach and Student Granting Coordinator, ensuring confidentiality of students receiving financial support.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements for Executive Director and Treasurer review.
• Perform quarterly presentation of financial statements to the Finance Committee and Board.
• Perform financial, cash flow and budget analysis on an ongoing basis and report as necessary to the Executive Director.
• Manage data accuracy in financial management and CRM systems and reconcile with granting system.
• Prepare the annual budget in partnership with the Executive Director, Treasurer and Finance Committee.
• Prepare fiscal year end financial statements and year end tax reports and serve as liaison with accounting firm / tax preparers.
• Serve as finance lead at events and track, reconcile and report financial outcomes in a timely manner.
• Prepare donor acknowledgements.
• Perform other reporting, analysis and/or staff initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Professional bookkeeping and accounting experience required
• Demonstrated 3 years’ professional experience with financial management systems (Quickbooks preferred), customer relationship management (CRM) systems (Salsa preferred), Google Apps, Outlook and Microsoft Excel systems required
• Attention to detail as well as ability to multitask and meet deadlines required

DIFFERENTIATORS

• Experience with Quickbooks and/or Salsa
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Demonstrated team player, with initiative and problem-solving capabilities
