Responsibilities

Our Office of General Counsel has a new opening for an Executive Assistant to the General Counsel and Office of General Counsel providing general legal and administrative support and event planning. The incumbent would also assist with managing the implementation of budget and accounting practices for OGC.

Duties

  • Administer the Standards of Conduct and Anti-Manipulation web-based training programs, including marketing to potential customers and providing customer service to potential and existing vendors.
  • Coordinate vendor fulfillment of customer requests, including new customer set-ups, customization, and upgrades.
  • Act as first point of contact to vendors for the purpose of troubleshooting and assisting with resolving technical issues.
  • Manage CLE application in over 30 states.
  • Research and develop content for monthly community meetings; summarize key meeting takeaways for distribution to stakeholders.
  • Take the lead in planning OGC meetings such as biannual legal conferences, and cybersecurity law conferences; manage attendee and speaker registration, distribution of meeting materials, conference space, and meeting events (meals, equipment, guest services, etc.).
  • Maintain Legal Committee and related EEI member contact lists.
  • Serve as OGC budget coordinator to include managing PO’s, invoice administration, and day-to-day vendor oversight.
  • Manage electronic databases of templates and other documents.
  • Process mail and maintain mailing lists.
  • Provide general administrative support as necessary.
  • Assist General Counsel with scheduling meetings and calls with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage requests from member company GCs to survey other members on topics of interest.

Qualifications

  • 3 -5 years of relevant experience such as regulatory compliance, and adapting to new regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of energy industry policy issues
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in individual and group settings
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with strong customer service, conflict management, and interpersonal skills
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Meeting coordination and facilitation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple duties and emergent work in a professional, timely manner

The salary range for this role begins at $79,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary. Office Protocol

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
