Food Service Worker/Prep Cook SALARY: $2,940-$3,294 /monthly (prorated to a 5 hour per week schedule) DOE LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington DescriptionTriton Espresso is a self-support program designed to serve students and staff at Edmonds College. Triton Espresso is vital to the daily lives and operation of the college community. Our food and beverage amenities offer a service to all populations. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Assembles food products / ingredients following recipes provided by supervisor, in a timely manner
Practice proper Snohomish Health department guidelines for maintaining product labeling, dating, storage, and rotation to ensure safety and freshness
Practice proper Snohomish Health department cleaning guidelines of food, equipment, and surfaces
Basic math skills for production volume, portioning, and inventory
Working independently, or with little supervision
Food handling which includes FIFO (First In, First Out)
Operation of kitchen equipment such as panini press, oven, dishwasher, knives, etc
Inventory, restocking of inventory, and organization of inventory
Transports food from prep to freezer /refrigerator storage areas, as instructed by supervisor
This is a classified staff position reporting to the Director of Food Services/Triton Espresso Manager and Kitchen Manager. Valid WA State Food Permit
16 years of age or older
Strong cooking and kitchen equipment skills
Basic math skills (measurements, production pars)
Ability to be on feet and moving constantly for 4-6 hours at a time
Ability to lift, push, pull items that weigh as much as 50 pounds
Manual dexterity to ensure proper operation of kitchen utensils, cutting tools and uniform knife skills
Desired Qualifications
Recipe conversion and measuring accuracy
Experience with commercial kitchen equipment and quantity cooking
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is primarily performed at Triton Espresso food and coffee located in the Mountlake Terrace Hall lobby at Edmonds College.
Loud noises from kitchen equipment (exhaust fans, timers, etc)
On feet and moving constantly for 4-6 hours at a time
Repetitive motions
Repeated operation of equipment at extremely high temperatures (160 -200 degrees)
Operating ovens and kitchen utensils / equipment
Ability to lift, push, pull items that weigh as much as 50 pounds
Manual dexterity to ensure proper operation of kitchen utensils, cutting tools and uniform knife skills
WORK SCHEDULE
Working hours: 1 shift per week for 4- 6 hours/ flexible for a Friday, Saturday, OR Sunday
Start times as early as 7:30 am and end time no later than 4:00 pm
CompensationSalary Range 34, Step A. Beginning salary is $2,940-$3,294 /monthly (prorated to a 5 hour per week schedule). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
