What You'll Do

The Senior Research and Thesis Course Teacher will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a brand-new, mastery-based course focused on fostering positive multigenerational change within the realm of Health Sciences. The course aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to have a meaningful impact on their community, country, and world. Students will engage in research, internships, product development, or community impact projects, with a specific focus on understanding the intersection between their chosen pathway and Health Sciences.

  • Curriculum Development: Adapt a comprehensive curriculum that integrates concepts of positive multigenerational change, health sciences, and social justice. Adapt learning materials, assessments, and activities aligned with course objectives.

  • Instructional Delivery: Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom sessions that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Provide guidance and support to students as they navigate their chosen pathway projects. Ensure that assignments are provided with timely feedback and grading.

  • Individualized Learning: Implement a mastery-based approach to instruction, catering to the diverse learning needs and interests of students. Offer personalized feedback and coaching to help students achieve academic and personal growth.

  • Project Management: Oversee students' pathway projects, ensuring they are on track to meet project milestones and deadlines. Collaborate with community partners, industry professionals, and other stakeholders to provide authentic learning experiences.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments. Use data to monitor student progress and make informed instructional decisions.

  • Student Showcase: Collaborate with the Assistant Principal of Student Services to organize a multi-day student showcase, where students will present their pathway projects to the school community and external stakeholders.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in an workplace characterized by autonomy, flexibility, transparency and accountability

  • Collaborative team player who works well with other adults and engages in healthy debate and conflict to get the best results for students and families

  • A resourceful, persistent teacher, constantly seeking to “find a way or make one” to improve results

  • A graduate of a four-year university required

  • A California Single Subject Teaching Credential or Out of State Teaching Credential strongly preferred (or a clear path to receiving a teaching credential within a year).

  • Our salary range for teachers starts at $63,250 and is commensurate with experience.

Additional Details

Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is exempt, in-person, and will follow an 11-month schedule.
