Our client, an HVAC/R manufacturer’s representative based in Wisconsin is seeking an HVAC/R Consultant. This business provides commissioning and support to a variety of clients and this position acts as the HVAC/R subject matter expert in relation to install, startup and ongoing support. The role is based in Waukesha, WI, includes normal M-F hours, NO on-call hours, and delivers ongoing training and certification programs. The role pays $40-$50 per hour based on experience and certification and comes with a strong benefit program. This role also includes a company vehicle gas, daily lite local travel and overnight travel at <10%.

The key to this role is recent and relevant HVAC/R subject matter expertise in the installation, break/fix and ongoing maintenance of HVAC/R related products. Th incumbent will:

• Excel at solving complex HVAC/R field equipment problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess a blend of both technical and communication skills to meet the needs of external and internal customers.
• Service VFD’s, Humidifiers, Boilers, Chillers, VRF, MAU’s, DOAS, RTU’s & Custom AHU’s.
• Troubleshoot Standard Scroll Chillers and centrifugal units
• Work with complex controls for chillers - connect CPU to control panel and perform Testing & balancing
• Support products on new and existing HVAC/R installations
• Provide troubleshooting support to local mechanical contractors
• Deliver Start up and commissioning to equipment including make-up air units (MUA), dedicated outside air units (DOAS), variable refrigeration flow systems (VRF), dehumidification units, modular chillers, and air handlers
• Support outside sales team by providing troubleshooting support and technical equipment knowledge
• Take part in ongoing training required by HVAC/R suppliers

Qualifications

• 8 years experience as a Commercial HVAC service technician or highly related experience in the HVAC field.
• Experience servicing VFD’s, Humidifiers, Boilers, Chillers, VRF, MAU’s, DOAS, RTU’s & Custom AHU’s.
• Experience with Standard Scroll Chillers, centrifugal units, Controls for chillers
• Proficient in refrigeration practices
• Proficient in wire diagrams and wiring troubleshooting.
• Proficient in air balancing – fan curves & the importance of air movement.
• Current Driver’s License and ability to drive company vehicle.

Preferred

• 2 or 4 year technical degree
• HVAC/R Certification
• EPA Section 608 Certification
• Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Certificate and/or training
• Experience drafting a detailed troubleshooting / commissioning report.
• Past experience in explaining and delivering equipment owner training to end users.
