SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:

Provides engaging instruction, to include, but not limited to, resume writing, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, job search techniques, job retention strategies, employability skills, life skills training, etc. and evaluates student progress. Identify and use appropriate materials for the students being taught and the department goals established. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for students completing and/or separating from the program as a graduate or former enrollee. 
  • Assists student with job searches, completing and submitting applications, obtaining interviews, and attending job fairs.
  • Responsible for implementation and facilitation of all CTR curriculum and classroom instruction to include, but not limited to, resume writing, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, job search techniques, job retention strategies, employability skills, life skills training, etc.
  • Responsible for participating in the Evaluation of Student and development of Student’s Personal Career Development Plans starting in the Career Preparation Period.
  • Works closely with the CTT Instructors, WBL coordinator and Career Counselors to ensure Pre-termination Placement graduate and post enrollee placement goals are met.
  • Develop a monthly calendar of events that would include, but not be limited to, ASVAB testing, military and college prep, college open houses, job fairs, on center job fairs, employer presentations, etc.
  • Works closely with the scheduling clerk to ensure appropriate scheduling of students’ into CTR based on the student projection dates.
  • Coordinates Paid Duty Off-Center leaves for students with verified interviews.
  • Ensures students are registered in One-Stop centers prior to and during enrollment; work with admissions counselors and the WBL Specialist in establishing and maintaining One-Stop Center contracts

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social or human services, education, counseling or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of related experience in sales, marketing, or counseling related services.

OTHER:

  • Must possess valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
