JOB PURPOSE

Ensure the health and safety of members and clients in the fitness area, always providing exemplary customer service to all members and clients.

Cultivate member engagement.

• Works with both internal and external customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health & Safety 50%

• Act as health and safety monitor while on duty in the fitness center.
• Work with the Operations and Facilities departments to ensure all fitness areas and equipment are cleaned and disinfected continually, considering all Covid19 health and safety guidelines.

Customer Service 40%

• Deliver excellent customer service to all members and clients at the 14th Street Y.
• Address and resolve all member / client questions and issues in a timely, friendly manner.
• Guide customers in proper use of equipment.

Other 10%

• Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests.
• Attending Fitness Staff meetings and training as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• CPR / AED Certification required
• Knowledge of fitness industry practices
• Ability to work early morning, evening and weekend schedule required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Team player and a passion to build relationships with individuals
• Excellent customer service skills handling all matters in courteous and friendly manner
• Proactive, hands-on approach, as well as a professional work ethic
• Self-motivated, highly efficient, strong attention to details
• Ability to work in high-pressure environment autonomously
