The Executive Director, Product will oversee the TOEFL Home Edition product, features, and market roadmap that drives increased margins for products and contracts working closely with other functional centers of excellence. This role is pivotal in improving the current remote online experience in addition to shoring up security around the test. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, product sense as well as a proven track record of driving value through these data-driven product and security improvements. This role will report to the AVP Product, TOEFL and may supervise one or more product management professionals depending on organizational needs.

  • Lead Development for TOEFL Home Edition: Guide the specification, development, and continuous improvement of the TOEFL Home Edition, incorporating feedback from a diverse range of stakeholders including test-takers, educational institutions, and internal teams such as Technology, Research, and Security.
  • Enhance Remote Testing Experience: Focus on creating a seamless, user-friendly remote testing experience that is accessible and equitable for all TOEFL test-takers, ensuring that the platform is intuitive and responsive to the unique needs of remote users.
  • Bolster Test Security: Develop and implement cutting-edge security measures to uphold the integrity of the TOEFL Home Edition, employing advanced proctoring technologies and data protection protocols to prevent fraud and ensure test fairness.
  • Strategize and Roadmap: Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for the TOEFL Home Edition, from ideation through to launch and beyond, ensuring that all features align with the core objectives of enhancing user experience and test security.
  • Market and User Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis and user segmentation specifically for remote test-takers, identifying key trends, needs, and opportunities to better serve this demographic.
  • Competitive Positioning: Establish the TOEFL Home Edition's market positioning by conducting thorough competitive analyses, focusing on feature differentiation and value proposition in the remote testing landscape.
  • Performance Optimization: Utilize quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate feature performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation within the remote testing platform.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the development team and other stakeholders, ensuring that business requirements are clearly communicated, and that the final product delivers an exceptional user experience.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Effectively communicate complex concepts related to remote testing and security, advocating for innovative ideas and prioritizing initiatives that will drive the success of the TOEFL Home Edition.
  • KPI Accountability: Take responsibility for key performance indicators related to the TOEFL Home Edition, including product quality, user satisfaction, and security effectiveness.
  • Leadership: Depending on your assignment, mentor and lead junior product managers on projects related to the TOEFL Home Edition, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
Experience and Skills:
  • Undergraduate degree in related fields such as: Business Administration, Marketing or other areas combined with relevant work experience
  • MBA preferred
  • 7 years of Software Services Product Management experience for customer products over $100M.
  • Experience generating outstanding results as an experienced product leader at a high performing tech-enabled product company; Education industry preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with software product management and development approaches (Agile)
  • Ability to apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions
  • Self-motivated with the proven ability to learn fast and be resourceful
  • Enjoys and can demonstrate ability to work well in a highly matrixed, collaborative, creative and mission-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and a deep understanding of product funnels, data analytics,
  • A thirst for educational innovation, while being up-to-date with the latest trends, policies and best practices in education and product management
