PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

Department: Education

Classification: Exempt

Reports To: Directors

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Classroom Teachers

Position Description: Program Administrator assists teachers in providing effective educational programs for all students. In collaboration, the Lead Support Teacher aids in developing programs, modeling best practices, and facilitating compliance with guidelines. The Lead Support Teacher assists in positively impacting student achievement, participating in continuous agency improvement efforts and providing instructional coaching, training, and support that is aligned with Agency curriculum. The Lead Support Teacher provides support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers, students and the Agency.

Essential Job Functions

Essential job functions represent the fundamental job duties and responsibilities of the employment position the individual holding the position must be capable of performing. Establishes Cooperative and Effective Working Relationships within the Educational Community.

Provides support, mentoring and assistance to members within the educational community.

Participates as a member of various teams.

Communicates through meetings, e-mails, phone calls, etc.

Provides Instructional Leadership.

Provides mentoring, support and assistance to classroom teachers.

Serves as a resource for identification of instructional strategies, materials, and interventions to address diverse learning needs.

Assists teachers in designing, delivering and assessing instruction.

Evaluation

Performance evaluated by the Director(s).

Position Specifications

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Minimum Education and/or Experience

Master’s Degree: Special Education

Three to five year’s professional experience teaching special education students

Advanced Knowledge in Curriculum and Assessments

Advanced knowledge in Instructional Strategies

Special Education Certification preferred

Language Abilities

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and workplace policies. Ability to analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write professional correspondence. Ability to write procedures and organizational policies. Ability to speak effectively with other employees and/or consumers. Ability to present formal information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to present information and respond to questions. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to carry out business objectives. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
