EDZ Systems is Hiring a Windows Server Administrator Near Kansas, KS

Windows Server Administrator

Candidate applies senior level technical skills to support large business systems and resolves problems. Installs, updates, maintains, and monitors the operation of complex automated systems and applications including, but not limited to, server software administration, server back-up support, change/problem management, database management, and/or asset management. Candidate should be able to complete, participate in, and/or coordinate technical and non-technical complex projects.

Key Activities:

  • Provides a senior level of technical expertise in support of Windows Server administration.
  • Installs COTS and in-house developed applications, updates COTS and application maintenance, maintains, and monitors the operation of complex Windows servers including application packages running in these environments.
  • Provide support for developers and development efforts related to Windows administration and some Linux Servers as well as web based platforms.
  • Help coordinate major installations, updates, maintains and monitors the operation of the major systems, which may include: COTS installation and maintenance, application infrastructure support, change/problem management.
  • Responsible for change management through Remedy change management system.
  • Responsible for analyzing, evaluating and implementing new application systems. This includes equipment and software, configuration and deployment.
  • Maintains procedures/documentation for supported automation products.
  • Responsible for application of policies related to data access and permission management.
  • Responsible for application performance and optimization efforts focused on Linux Servers.
  • Provide strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills from a COTS application, with proven ability to recognize and support process improvements.
  • Serve as liaison to user departments to implement information programs/systems, ascertain needs and acceptance, and to resolve problem situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and/or work related experience. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Server Operating System Administration, Engineer certification, or completion of classes toward applicable certifications preferred.
  • At least three years of experience with network administration and user support.
  • Strong customer service, multi-tasking, and communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to end-users and non-technical staff.
  • Able to work well with clients and individually as well as in a high collaborative team.
  • Demonstrates senior level on-the-job experience implementing and administering Windows server environments and COTS package support within the last 4 years.
  • Demonstrated senior level on-the-job experience supporting JBOSS, Websphere and Apache administration within the last 4 years.
  • Linux server administration experience a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to environment configuration and performance tuning.
  • Experience with transitioning from SSL Certificate management to TLS is a plus.
