Position Type: 13 weeks contract
Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will diagnose and treat a wide range of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in patients of all ages. This role requires a thorough understanding of communication disorders, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. SLPs working primarily with outpatient pediatrics, outpatient adults, and some subacute inpatient coverage as modified barium swallow studies are needed. To provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family education, and appropriate referrals to patients exhibiting a speech, language, or swallowing disorder. Maintain quality care for all patients through a coordinated, comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach; and providing assistance where communication barriers exist due to speech/language disabilities to enable each individual to reach his or her maximum level of independence.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Speech Therapy services to patients under the appropriate guidelines established by each client location or service provider.
- As requested by the client location or service provider, conduct screening of patients per the policies of the client location or service provider to determine the need for intervention/treatment.
- Evaluates patients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to clients, patients, family, and other team members.
- Establishes patient schedules in conjunction with other team members.
- Develops treatment plans by identifying a needs list, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
- Coordinates treatment plan with patient, family, and other team members. Implements and conducts treatment outlined in the treatment plan.
- Monitors patient's response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals per physician orders.
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Current state licensure or license eligible.
