Egan Company is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager - Industrial Controls (North Carolina) Near Cary, NC

OverviewLearn and perform project management methods and strategies, and become familiar with company systems, while performing various administrative assignments in support of a designated project or group of projects. With supervisory direction, establish goals and accomplish assigned tasks within prescribed time frames and financial parameters. The Assistant Project Manager with Industrial Controls may be a great fit for you or someone you know.
*** This role could also be a Hybrid role, so working a blend of in the office and at home***
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project team to plan, setup, and manage construction projects.
  • Navigate and use Egan’s project management systems and processes, including Milestone Based Delivery (MBD).
  • Promotes a positive safety culture by ensuring Egan’s safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.
  • Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.
  • Become familiar with the materials, equipment, and components of the technical systems installed by Egan’s trades.
  • Advise project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and the like, as it relates to assigned duties. Learn how Egan can circumvent and/or resolve such problems.
  • Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures; assist with change orders, project billings, and change request pricing.
  • Process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. supply requisitions, RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, take-offs, etc.) as directed.
  • Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analysis per supervisor’s request. May require research, development and/or interpretation of data with little supervision or instruction.
  • Learn how to interpret project schedules, anticipate manpower requirements and measure subcontractor performance.
  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.
  • Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as directed.
  • Assume a proactive approach to career development. Utilize available resources within Egan, as well as request alternative instruction to learn how to become a successful project manager.
  • Assist with estimating processes; create estimates.
  • Solicit and review project submittals; coordinate with project manager and purchasing.
  • Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egan’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Use basic understanding of financials and reporting to support a PM in related responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed
Position Requirements:
  • 2-year associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience).
  • 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience.
  • Travel to jobsites and client sites may be required.
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for the industry.
  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated.
  • Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities and methods; willingly takes on new tasks and challenges.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks and learn new things.
  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.
  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire (if not already certified).
