Reports To: Building Principal and Supervisor of Science
Job Purpose: To teach the skills necessary to master the learning of science at the middle school level.
Qualifications-Required:
NJ Teacher of Science or Elementary Certification with Middle School Science Endorsement (Standard, CEAS, or CE)
Excellent communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent classroom management
Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)
Ability to engage and motivate middle school students
Ability to differentiate instruction
Ability to develop and follow lesson plans
Ability to incorporate technology in daily lessons
Ability to pass the Criminal History Review and Pre-Employment Physical Examination
Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure
Qualifications-Desired:
2-3 years teaching science
2-3 years teaching middle school students
Familiarity with Charlotte Danielson Teaching Framework
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows the developed science curriculum for middle school students
Engages students in learning
Uses technology to teach the curriculum
Makes learning science relevant to students
Differentiates instruction to meet the learning needs and styles of students
Maintains a safe and learning classroom environment
Interacts effectively with students and parents
Working Conditions:

10-month position
Salary minimum of $57,708 (BA, Step 1) as per EHTEA Contract
