Location: Hamilton, NJ
Are you a Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) or Psychology student seeking part-time work?
This position is a part-time opportunity for a friendly, experienced Self-Directed Employee (SDE) to support a (28) year old young man in his quest to explore more of the Hamilton/Mercer community.
He enjoys the following activities:
- Going for walks and hikes to explore his community.
- Collecting and organizing recycling
- Swimming at the YMCA
- Anything to do with trains
This young man has a very close, supportive family whom he loves very much; therefore, the SDE will work closely with them as well as the individual.
Seeking a candidate who can provide the following:
- Assist and guide this young man in exploring his community and introduce new activities!
- Think outside the box in choosing appropriate activities that this young man prefers
- Must be able to participate in recreational activities. For example, if he goes in the pool then you also go in the pool
- Be willing to model, prompt and encourage new skills.
- Acknowledge his strong sense of family unity with respect and understanding.
- Must have experience with de-escalation and redirection
- Training will be provided.
Requirements:
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Flexible Schedule For The Right Candidate
- Monday, Thursday and Sunday, 1pm to 3pm
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- CPR/FA

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 9 per week
