Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting SELPA administration in the coordination of services and support to member LEAs in the Charter SELPA. The person in this position coordinates, plans, organizes, and oversees, assigned SELPA activities; assists charters in operating effective special education programs; provides expertise related to special education.
Requirements / Qualifications
Abilities:
Significant physical abilities include vision sufficient to read printed materials; hearing and speech sufficient to conduct normal in-person, telephone, and virtual conversations.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience would likely provide the requisite knowledge and abilities. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in special education or closely related field.
Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential, Education Specialist Credential, or other Special Education related Credential, and an Administrative Services Credential.
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Special Education Preferred knowledge of one of the following content areas: Program Quality, Mental Health, Special Education Compliance, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Licenses, Certification, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
TB test clearance, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. If required to operate a vehicle during the course of employment, must possess a valid California Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
