Here, you’ll be part of a company that values and champions new ways of thinking, work with dynamic individuals, and acquire new skills and experiences that will propel your career to new heights.Making animals’ lives better makes life better – join our team today!Your Role: Senior Specialist Emergency ServicesClinton Labs’ Emergency Services Department is responsible for ownership and administration of Asset protection, Loss Prevention, Life Safety Systems and Emergency Response for Clinton Laboratories. Positions within this department include Emergency Services Leader, Emergency Services Sr. Specialists, and Emergency Services Officers. This position provides the primary emergency services, and asset protection for function of the plant. Emergency services responsibilities include fire, spill & release mitigation, confined space rescue, and medical response. Asset protection services include perimeter checks, surveillance, physical checks, traffic management and access control. 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Emergency Services Normal Operations
  • EMS Specialist Duties: Emergency Response Coordination
  • Emergency Services Special Operations (some dependent upon DHS threat levels) 
  • Emergency Services, Safety, Loss Prevention Support, Project Team Support, and Process Improvement
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Required Experience: 5 years of experience on an off-site EMT or above transport ambulance service, Experience at Fire Dept, and Experience in training and leading continue education of EMR and EMT’s state of IN.
  • Current or prior participation on an emergency response team (Fire Department, Fire Brigade/Hazmat - Elanco or external) is required and will be considered in candidate selection.
  • State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B or higher) or certification thru National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
  • State of Indiana Firefighter I/II or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Firefighter I/II
  • Minimum of NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
  • State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Hazmat 1st Responder Awareness/Operations.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
  • CPR Instructor American Heart Association
  • State of Indiana Instructor I Certified
  • State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Technician or International fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Hazmat Technician Certified
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to make and execute prioritized decisions protecting life safety, the environment, and site assets (in that order) under high stress conditions, under an incident command structure, is required.
  • Possess demonstrated leadership ability – either in emergency response and/or in another leadership capacity (“step-up” supervisor, etc.).
  • Ability to serve as Incident Commander within the site incident command system.
Additional Information:
  • Travel: 0-10%, Some travel (overnight or out of town) may be necessary for training.
  • Location: Clinton, Indiana
  •  Work hours are 5:00 – 17:15 on fixed A, B, C, & D rotating shifts. The particular shift (A, B, C, D) for this position has not yet been determined.
  • Elanco approved emergency response training must be taken as soon as possible in the disciplines of Hazmat, Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, and Emergency Medical Service. Annual refresher training is required.
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
  • Must pass a yearly ERT Medical Panel and quantitative fit test for SCBA
  • Must obtain State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Technician or International fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Hazmat Technician within 2 years of accepting job offer.
  • CPR Instructor American Heart Association or must obtain within 2 years of accepting job offer.
  • Must obtain State of Indiana Instructor I within 2 years of accepting job offer.
  • Emergency response situations or departmental staffing needs may necessitate overtime after normal business hours and on weekends.
  • Individual will be required to work holidays (as scheduled) and extensive overtime.
  • This position requires that the incumbent carry a pager and respond, if possible, to emergency call-in.
  • Person must be able to work in a variety of industrial environments, including production areas that may involve the presence of allergens.
  • May be required to complete a criminal background check and drug testing as per Elanco procedures.
  • May be required to complete an extended background check for DHS clearance
