Adult Peer Support Group | Bereavement Group Clinician

Ele’s Place is a nonprofit, community-based healing center with a mission to create awareness of and support for grieving children, teens, and their families. Four branch locations support families throughout Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Flint, Lansing, and beyond.

Ele's Place-Greater Flint and Genesee County (Flint) seeks a Clinician to serve as the group facilitator in our evening adult group bereavement program, ensuring an emotionally and physically safe group environment that promotes trust and sharing among group participants.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support the Bereavement Coordinator during program night by assisting families and children, organizing activities, and setting up group rooms.
• Provide structure and direction to the group process, including beginning each group with an opening circle, and closing with an appropriate closing ritual.
• Provide a brief overview of group themes and any relevant concerns during debriefing.
• Attend facilitator meetings and facilitator in-service meetings.
• Lead presentations to enhance the knowledge of volunteers.
• Maintain professional standards and boundaries; abide by Ele’s Place policies and procedures.

Expectations: Completion of Ele’s Place Facilitator training is required. The typical workweek is five (5) hours, one (1) evening every week (Tuesday) with required attendance at briefing and debriefing meetings. The schedule is flexible with hours between 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Education Requirements: A minimum of LLMSW or LLPC state licensure (or equivalent state licensure with a master’s degree in a mental health-related field) is required. Experience working with grief and loss is strongly preferred.
