Job Summary:
The role of the Human Resources Manager is to provide Human Resources (HR) expertise and leadership support to the business operations. This position is a key member of the local leadership team with responsibilities that include; providing counsel and guidance on all matters related to HR, employment law and compliance, aligning HR strategies with business and customer needs, and fostering an environment consistent with proactive employee relations philosophy, code of conduct, vision and values. The HR Manager plays a critical role in the identification and acquisition of external talent as well as in the development and succession planning of internal talent.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as the primary point of contact for the business operations for all HR matters including staffing, employee relations, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, employment law, compensation, and benefits.
• Responsible for the compliance of all statutory employment regulations/laws
• Ensures consistent compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Develops and executes talent acquisition, recruitment processes, and retention strategies
• Responsible for new hire on-boarding, benefits enrollment, and personnel file maintenance
• Manages progressive disciplinary system and assists management with employee relations counseling. Conducts all terminations.
• Conducts comprehensive employee relations investigations when necessary. Provides summation of facts to the management team and makes recommendations on appropriate course of action.
• Coaches, assesses training needs, motivates, and develops management team to maximize performance.
• Actively participates in Safety Committee and other Safety events
• Monitors the performance evaluation program
• Engages in short and long-term planning, sets priorities to optimize time usage, adheres to schedules and plans.
• Develops direct reports to learn and grow and maintains current knowledge in the field
• Other core expectations as defined by the company.
Must have experience working with H-2A Visa .
Must have be Bilingual Speaking (Spanish)
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, required.
• Human Resources certification, preferred.
• A minimum of five years of HR Generalist, Manager, or Business Partner experience; with at least three of those
years in a management capacity; experience in a production or distribution industry, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to work in a team environment with individuals of all leadership styles, personalities, and career levels.
• Must be able to handle sensitive issues with tact and maintain strict confidentiality of private information;
commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related
accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
• Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required; ability and willingness to travel.
• This job operates in a clerical, office setting. Occasional work in a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F or in a greenhouse with a temperature range from 80-100°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation.
• Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax
machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting and/or standing
for prolonged periods is required.
• The position may involve needing to lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pound
