GENERAL PURPOSE

The individual in this role will assist company growth and profitability through new customer acquisition, as well as by increasing current customer spending. This role requires personal drive, tireless persistence, business strategy expertise and creative Company branding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business needs

· Develop relationships with prospective clients while maintaining existing client relationships

· Partner with sales teams to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients

· Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to leadership

· Collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure contract specifications are executed on-time and as agreed

· Become a subject matter expert on our business

· Must attend industry functions/events including evening events (when applicable) / Join Industry affiliations such as AGC, NECA, MTA, OCTA for outreach opportunities.

· Adheres to the Company’s Alcohol and Drug Free Policy at all times

· Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently with little guidance and/or supervision

· Must maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Collaborate with estimating department and client on pursuits.

· Work closely with operations and estimating during the preconstruction process.

· Vet potential opportunities with operations and estimating.

· Maintain business development electronic database, tracking logs & related information.

· Lead the prequalification process for potential projects or clientele.

· Participate in subcontractor outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are the minimum qualifications which individuals need in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related filed
  • 3 years or more of progressively, responsible related training/experience in the commercial and/or public works electrical construction industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including group presentations
  • Proven sales track record
  • Demonstrated B2B sales
  • An aptitude for research and analysis
  • Experience in working to and exceeding target goals
  • General PC skills – MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and industry-specific analysis software
  • Strong detail orientation, proficient, and rapid in takeoff.
  • Develops relationships with clients at the functional staff level.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to be an effective team member.
  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
  • Ability to travel throughout the greater Los Angelas metropolitan area. Occasional out of area travel may be required.
  • Good understanding of Critical Path Management when applicable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
