We are seeking a skilled and experienced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assembling electronic components onto PCBs, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to specifications. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics, and working efficiently within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • PCB Assembly: Perform the assembly of electronic components onto PCBs according to engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Component Mounting: Skillfully mount and solder various electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits (ICs), connectors, and other surface mount and through-hole components onto PCBs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of assembled PCBs to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Identify and rectify any discrepancies or defects in the assembly process.
  • Soldering: Use soldering irons, reflow ovens, and other equipment to solder components onto PCBs with precision and consistency. Maintain proficiency in soldering techniques for both surface-mount and through-hole components.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of assembled PCBs to verify functionality and performance. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve any issues or anomalies identified during testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of assembly procedures, component placements, soldering techniques, and quality inspection records. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for reference.
  • Workplace Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with electronic components, soldering equipment, and other tools. Promote a safe and clean work environment at all times.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, and quality in the PCB assembly process. Provide feedback and suggestions for optimizing assembly procedures and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB assembly within a manufacturing or electronics assembly environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong soldering skills with experience in both surface mount and through-hole soldering techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic components and their characteristics, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, and connectors.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Certification or training in electronics assembly and soldering techniques is a plus.
  • SMT experience a plus

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Additional technical certifications or vocational training in electronics assembly or related fields is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to electronic components, soldering equipment, and testing tools.
  • May require occasional lifting of heavy objects and prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
