Element Professionals LLC. is Hiring an Estimator - Commercial Construction - Federal Project Experience Near Washington, DC

Job Description

Currently seeking an Estimator with experience in Federal project estimation.

Scope of Responsibility:

Primary responsibility to manage the project pricing preparation for original contracts and subsequent task orders.

Position Duties:

Estimating:

  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, construction plans, specifications, and related documents. Visits project sites when necessary.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating prices.
  • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates. Coordinates estimates with field superintendents.
  • Calculate and analyze costs to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Copy and submit bid/quote on time either in person, by fax, or electronically.
  • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Ability to analyze bid statistics and various work types on competitors in an effort to sustain Gold standards on Margin left on Table and other metrics.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience with Federal projects preferred.
  • A College Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • The ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • An excellent working knowledge of RS Means, Procore, Microsoft Office.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in new construction and comprehensive renovation.
  • Experience with projects that include working closely with design teams and architectural firms a plus.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multi-task. Establish long-range goals and the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Effective conflict resolution.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
