What You'll Do:

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for leading Elemental LED demand planning and forecasting processes. They will define necessary strategic initiatives that will result in the creation of a consensus demand forecast, overall improvement of forecast accuracy, and inventory optimization. They will administer the design and implementation of all planning and forecasting tools and lead related process and systems improvement. The Demand Planning Manager is the visible leader in the cross functional collaboration with Sales Managers, Product Development/Management, Finance, and Supply Chain as it relates to short- and long-term forecasts for the business. They will build alignment cross functionally to best balance demand and supply of all stocked parts.

The Demand Planning Manager performs a full range of duties and must have the ability to work semi-independently and to exercise initiative and good judgment.

Challenge Yourself – The Specifics:

  • Collaborate with leadership in Product Management to align on product life cycle management (beginning of life and end of life planning)
  • Apply appropriate forecasting models/techniques to develop baseline statistical forecasts and lead the development of the consensus demand forecast
  • Develop collaborative planning processes to gain quantitative and qualitative market insights from colleagues to overlay into baseline forecast
  • Create and concisely communicate actionable forecast insights
  • Identify data requirements needed to support in-depth analysis
  • Analyze performance and trends, clearly articulate business drivers behind the forecast, identify opportunities and risks, and proactively communicate to cross-functional teams
  • Define and administer setup of new tools and software
  • Develop and consistently produce relevant KPIs
  • Backstop purchasing and supply planning to ensure timely delivery of optimum inventory levels without accumulating E&O stock
  • Continually challenge existing methods and processes to find opportunities for improvement

You Have a Unique Combination of Skills, Talents, and Mindset, Including Many of the Following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of related full-time work experience is required
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
  • Proficiency in SQL or one or more programming languages such as R, VBA, SAS, or Python is preferred
  • APICS CPIM Certification preferred
  • Advanced skills in querying, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strength in critical thinking, problem solving, and written and verbal communication
  • Comfort in articulating complex information and analyses to a variety of audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to quickly learn relevant database applications and software
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Assist in developing and implementing goals, objectives, practices, policies, procedures, and work standards
  • Understand and ensure compliance with company and department policies and procedures
  • Identify problems, research, and analyze relevant information, and develop and present recommendations and justification for solution
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, procedures, and other written materials
  • Establish and maintain a variety of manual and computerized reports, logs, records, and files of work performed
  • Acquire an understanding of LED lighting products and communicate effectively with industry professionals
  • Make accurate mathematic calculations
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
  • Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
