POSITION SUMMARY

The HRIS/Payroll Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance of the Human Resource Information System and the management of bi-weekly payroll for the organization. This position serves as a technical resource and assists SMEs with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and process improvement opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Process multi-state payroll and all associated reporting requirements
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, tax levies, PTO, insurances and 401(k) deductions
  • Review updates to payroll records by verifying and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, new hires, transfers, and terminations
  • Pull electronic time records and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and research any payroll issues to resolve employee payroll inquiries effectively and accurately
  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, benefit reconciliations and accruals
  • Provide payroll data for KPIs in support of company initiatives
  • Assisting Talent Acquisition Specialist in accurately entering new hires into HRIS
  • Lead process changes and software implementations in support of continuous improvement
  • Administer employee benefits for new hires and annual open enrollment
  • Serve as SME in Paycom with in-depth knowledge to include reporting, dashboards, and analytics
  • Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer/vendor/company needs (safety, census, labor, etc.)
  • Coordinate required supervisor/manager trainings to equip staff with tolls to approve timecards appropriately and consistently throughout the organization
  • Maintain data integrity in system by running queries and analyzing data
  • Research and resolve system issues, unexpected results, or process flaws, perform scheduled activities, and recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet organizational needs
  • Monitor current trends with a focus on product and service development, delivery, and support, applying key technologies
  • Participate in user group meetings/conferences/webinars
  • Assist HR Generalist with accurate ACA reporting and employee tax information
  • May assist finance department with A/P, A/R, expense reports, credit card reconciliation, etc.
  • Scanning of personnel records to electronic files
  • Additional administrative assistance on an as needed basis

Minimum Requirements


  • 3-5 years of payroll experience
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
  • 1-3 years of Paycom experience and/or HRIS experience strongly preferred
  • Requires unquestionable ethics and integrity
  • Familiarity with best payroll practices, and general accounting knowledge
  • Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws required
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs including advanced Excel skills
  • Clear written and verbal communications and excellent time management skills
  • Business acumen and strong attention to detail required
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidential information required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Lift document storage boxes up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Regular use of telephone and email for communication
  • Ability to walk short distances
